Interviewee: Dante Erajion of house Hantaria (Dante)

Interviewer: Lorraine M.L.M (Lo)

Location: Outdoor SeQuence Studio

Time: Evening – Civil Twilight

Lo:

Hi, Dante, welcome to the SeQuence Studio! I must say it’s an immense pleasure to have you here today.

Dante:

*eyes flash red* Hello, Lo. Thank you for the invitation. To say the least, the pleasure is all mine. I’m thrilled to be here. *shifts* This is my first interview so do tell me if I go off topic.

Lo:

*raises brows* I don’t see you as someone who can easily go off topic.

Dante:

*smiles* I have my bad moon-days.

Lo:

That’s good to know. Please tell us a little bit about your relationship with Alessia.

Dante:

*sighs* I wouldn’t know where to start, Lo. In Ralda’s ways, we may need a thousand moon-years to give justice to the story I must tell. To answer you in a timely sequence, I require a specific question.

Lo:

Okay, I’ll do my best to break it down. Did you ever anticipate falling in love with Alessia in the way that you did?

Dante:

*laughs* Anticipate? *shakes his head, eyes glinting* The kind of love that Lessi and I have is not one that comes with a pre-warning. Knowing about the Sequence of First and Forever didn’t prepare me enough. This love is not one that you could ever imagine in your wildest reveries. This is the kind of love that hits you unexpectedly, and the only way to maintain compos mentis is to yield to the fire burning inside you and let love flow.

Lo:

*takes a deep breath* Could you share with us how you felt when you met Alessia for the first time?

Dante:

Struck. I was struck, and I still haven’t managed to find my anchor yet.

Lo:

Dante. *moves laptop to the side* I find your relationship with Alessia quite intriguing, to say the least. You guys never argue. Is there a specific reason for that? Do you just avoid arguments full stop, or is it the case that nothing that’s worth arguing about has come up yet? Or are you at the dawn of your young love such that every day is ‘Loveday’ or what humans would call a honeymoon period?

Dante:

*half-smiles* Naturally, I find arguments exhausting. They’re not healthy for the heart or the mind. Foraging for arguments is more Gradho’s style. He does it too well for all of us. *chuckles then switch to a serious expression* With Lessi, it’s different. She’s my reason for wanting to live, my Sequence, my life. Arguing with her over trivial issues is as mindless as not having a mind at all. To answer your question, arguments are out of the equation.”

Lo:

You seem confident about that.

Dante:

I have no reason to waver.

Lo:

Thanks for this intriguing account of your reasoning. It’s just that, for us, it comes across as a tad strange. Arguments are part of us. Surely this peaceful, no-arguments relationship can’t be sustainable.

Dante:

*gaze turns piercing* Are you inferring that querulous love is the norm in your world?

Lo:

*fidgets* Hmm.

Dante:

*lounges back on the deck couch* If querulous love is sustainable, surely harmonious love can top the scales of sustainability, don’t you think?

Lo:

If you lay it down like that, I’ll be a fool to argue that point, which brings me to my final question. You seem like a thoughtful guy. Tell us a bit more about that.

Dante:

*silence falls” Someone very dear to me asked me a question that has shaped the way I live, love, and lead. What good is a mind if you can’t use it for good? That question has helped me put everything into perspective. I like to cogitate because I believe a carefully aligned sequence of thought is a prerequisite for a Sequence defined by me.

Lo:

Well said, Dante. It’s been a great honour to have you with us. Thank you for joining me today. I won’t take up anymore of your time, but do pop in again soon. We would love to have you back in the studio soon.

Dante:

Just say the word, and thank you for having me!
